BLUE BEETLE Movie

The first appearance of the DC Super Hero Blue Beetle on a movie theater screen will be in the upcoming feature film “Blue Beetle,” which will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Both Xolo Mariduea and his alter persona, Jaime Reyes, appear in the film, which was directed by Angel Manuel Soto and features Mariduea as the lead character.

Jaime Reyes, who has recently graduated from college, comes home with high hopes for his future only to discover that his hometown has changed significantly since he left it. During the course of Jaime’s quest to discover his place in the world, an unforeseen turn of events places him in control of an ancient relic of extraterrestrial biotechnology known as the Scarab. Jaime is blessed with an astonishing set of armor capable of remarkable and unpredictable powers when the Scarab unexpectedly chooses him to be its symbiotic host. As a result, his destiny is altered for all time as he transforms into the superhero Blue Beetle.

Bruna Marquezine (“Maldivas,” “God Save the King”), Elpidia Carrillo (“Mayans M.C.,” the “Predator” films), Raoul Max Trujillo (the “Sicario” films, “Mayans M.C. “), Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (“Monarch,” “Dead Man Walking”), and George Lopez (the “Rio” and “Smurf” franchises) also star in “Cobra Kai,” Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Belissa Escobedo (“American Horror Stories,” “Hocus Pocus 2”) also star in the movie. Soto (“Charm City Kings,” “The Farm”) is the director, while the screenplay, which is based on characters from DC Comics, was written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (“Miss Bala”). Producing is being handled by John Rickard and Zev Foreman, and executive producers are being provided by Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman, and Garrett Grant.

Pictures Presentation and a Safran Company Production, will make its debut in theaters beginning only in August 2023 across the rest of the world, and on August 18, 2023, in North America.
