Jennie of BLACKPINK sets a new standard for K-Pop with her ‘SOLO‘ music video. A historic milestone has been reached by Jennie, a member of the girl group BLACKPINK, as her music video for the song “SOLO” from 2018 has amassed one billion views.
When Jennie’s video on YouTube reaches one billion views, she becomes the first female K-Pop artist in history to accomplish this feat simultaneously.
As of the 19th of February, Jennie’s hit song SOLO had received more than one billion views, making her the second K-Pop artist in history to achieve this milestone, following PSY’s Gangnam Style in 2012.
Solo was her first song published outside of the band, and it was released in 2018. For those who are not familiar with it. During that time period, the song achieved commercial success, reaching the number one slot on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 chart.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK as a group has previously achieved a billion views on YouTube with the music video for Ddu-du-Ddu-du surpassing two billion views.
